We are proud to have been commissioned to build the "first ever" pool, including a spa, in the Cancer Research UK garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Gold was awarded in association with designer and TV presenter Andy Sturgeon. The project was also awarded SPATA Gold 2008 for Best Non-traditional Pool Installation. It was a unique and innovative first ever construction technique which was accomplished within an incredibly tight deadline of two weeks, making it official that we are capable of just about anything when it comes to pool design and build. The quality mosaic tiles for the interior finish were provided by Waxmans and the system control panel by Electair Ltd, making the project so much easier to complete. Supporting the invaluable work of Cancer Research UK fits in with the corporate ethos and business of London Swimming Pool Company as a whole - building stunning swimming pools and spas for healthly leisure and living. For more information about our support for charities and work in the communtiy please go to the News & Events section.

This residential swimming pool with a moving floor set in an an arched wood finished enclosure has attracted a great deal of industry interest. The exclusive installation functions both as a large leisure pool with adjustable depth accommodating for children of different heights and swimming abililties as well as a concert hall when the floor is raised. The innovative technology allows a pool area to double up as a dance floor/hall, cinema, party/meeting/conference facility, terrace ... the possibilities are endless, of particular interest if space is limited.

This swimming pool is truly an avant-garde project in many respects and it won two SPATA awards immediately on completion - one for the new category of Innovation and the other in the highest value projects. The client brief included a pool and building which were contextual and would be bright even on a dull day, have good acoustics and a strong connection with the outside as well as exude a feeling of calm. The extraordinary end result was achieved with unique materials and innovative technology. Fully opening glazed sections disappear into the walls completely linking the gardens with the inside and giving the illusion that parts of the building have no means of support. Linear slots in natural stone for water and air make the air handling system invisible and totally silent. The pool project has already been submitted for a number of architectural awards. The wonderful photos were taken by Fernando Guerra, FG+SG.

This beautiful pool is unique in many ways - with its unusual dimensions of 7x9 metres and choice of royal blue and purple colour tiles it really stands out in the lush gardens. The sun sparkling on the water makes it look like a big, square, perfectly set sapphire. The split level bottom provides one shallow and one deep side, accommodating all abilities and aquatic activities. The hi-tech features include a counter current swimming device for some rigorous exercise on the spot and afterwards the 6 massage jets along the underwater bench offer some well deserved relaxation.

This elegant indoor pool complex was constructed below the property with the help of deep piling to support the main house during the build. The facilities include a sunken spa and sauna for the complete wellness-at-home experience. The minimalist design is achieved with clear, concise lines and columns against background greys and wave effect polished plaster. The full length glazing of the pool hall allows for a spectacular view over South-West London from inside the pool and all the glass and a circular atrium permits maximum natural light to enter the leisure area creating a peaceful ambience. The client said about the project: "We are delighted with our swimming pool and we made the right choice in London Swimming Pool Company. The service has been excellent at every stage of the project, from planning to commissioning of the equipment, to ongoing maintenance. I would recommend London Swimming Pool Company without reservation." The project was also much appreciated by the SPATA judges who awarded it a Silver in its category.

This contemporary pool and leisure area constructed beneath the garden and linked to the house oozes luxury and zen at the same time and images do not do it justice, you simply have to be there to experience the calm and relaxation. The very interesting combination of rough hewn limestone on walls with bottle green mosaic pool tiles from Italy that sparkle like emeralds in sunshine, and stainless steel fittings is totally unique. The interior designer for the project was Charlotte Crosland who has also kindly supplied a couple of the photos.

The choice of large green Peruvian Slate tiles and Sandstone surrounds ensured that not only does this lovely pool provide much enjoyment for family and friends but also complements the colour scheme and traditional garden features, such as the box hedges, perfectly. The impression that the new pool has been there for a long time was also achieved as part of the design. The project instantly became a winner at the annual UK industry awards in February.

The project of constructing this modern high quality pool in the old redundant kitchens at Granard primary school has brought with it many rewards. The pool has not only become the pride and joy of all at Granard school, but will give everyone of its pupils a chance to become competent swimmers and certainly the ability to swim 25 meters by the end of Key Stage 2, which is a national curriculum requirement. The lengthy walk between the school and the leisure centre had previously left very little useful time in the water. The pool will also enable Granard to meet the fitness objectives of the government's Healthy Schools Programme and a facility in which to offer valuable Extended Services to the people and other schools in the community in the form of swimming lessons.
The look of the pool is pretty and fresh wiht a light blue blend ceramic mosaic tiled interior finish complemented by shiny stainless steel fittings. The Ultra-Violet water treatment system ensures superior crystal clear water quality requiring minimal chlorine and other chemicals that can irritate asthma sufferers and users with respiratory difficulties. The pool hall features showers and toilets and accommodation for disabled access and the pool itself is designed with training steps allowing for limited mobility users. We brought this entire old fashioned 1960s private school pool complex into the 21st century and the commission was immediately given the SPATA award for Best Refurbishment Project 2008. The comprehensive specification included adjusting the dimensions of the pool, installing electronic timing systems and scoreboard in line with FINA regulations for competition swimming. The transformation also included a complete refit of the changing rooms and shower facilities and installing a very advanced water treatment system resulting in stunning water quality.

Undertaking the refurbishment of the pool complex in 2005 at one of the finest fee paying schools in the country was a very satisfying project. The 21 metre pool built in the 70s needed to be brought up to the standard of the other fantastic sports facilities at the school. We re-tiled the whole building and of course the pool which had been covered in marbelite. The airhandling and water filtration system were replaced, new starting blocks installed and a complete changing room re-fit was carried out. The project was awarded Silver 2009 in the Commercial Refurbishment category by SPATA (after the Gold awarded to our project in Tudor Close!).

We always enjoy renovating and upgrading pools, no matter how modest in style and size and this simple primary school pool was no exception. We began by fixing a large leak in the shell, re-built the top part of the pool, and then re-rendered and re-tiled the shell as well as fitted hand rails along all sides for the comfort of complete beginners. The works took six weeks to complete during the winter term and the pool was ready for the children to enjoy again when the sun came out at Easter time.

Our refurbishment of this 1960s outdoor pool was called "outstanding" in the latest issue of Pool & Spa Industry. The work carried out in 2006 entailed fitting an Extreme onsite liner and laying new coping stones finished off with smart looking fittings in stainless steel. We supplied a foam thermal heat retention blanket with timber/stainless steel storage roll. Last year Pool Cover transformed the pool further by installing a Provence High Enclosure accommodating swimming all year round but which can be completely removed when the weather is fine.

It was exciting to see the transformation of this tired 70s installation into a swimming pool which has now certainly become an asset to the property. We started off by filling in the step side and open up the Roman end to give a better shape to this 4.5 x 9 metre pool. Over eight weeks the shell was re-rendered, re-tiled, all fittings and lights were replaced, new plant was installed and to finish off we laid fresh coping stones and paved the terrace area.

The pool was no longer watertight so we constructed a shell inside the old shell using the traditional block method with a constant concrete infill as well as designed and installed a new filtration and water treatment system. The transformation resulted in an immediate Gold for Best Commercial Refurbishment 2009 awarded by SPATA.

We renovated this pool from its very tired existing marbelite finished condition to a look which would perfectly match the "English Country Garden" in which it sits. The interior is now finished in a simple matt black ceramic mosaic which has a stunning shimmer in the sunshine. You may notice the black "Polaris" automatic pool cleaner in one of the images - especially imported to match the pool finish.

This dark blue oval pool is like a big jewel sunk into the floor of this attracive indoor ground level leisure space. We were asked to give the pool a makeover from the previous green mosaic internal finish with red detail to suit the stylish natural stone surfaces of the renovated living area.

Stunning effects were achieved when combining water, mosaic and original brickwork in the pool area at the original Cannons health club. The highly challening specification required that we build the pool underneath the railway arches of Cannon Street Station.
